Overview

Gen-Next Support for Innovative Startups (GENESIS) Matching Investment Funding program funded by the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) that promotes the startup ecosystem in Tier-II & Tier-III cities in the country. This program aims to accelerate the growth of startups with validated solutions and a proof of concept. GENESIS Scheme supports startup engaged in using emerging technologies such as IoT, Block-chain, AI/ML , Cybersecurity, VLSI/Semiconductor , Quantum Computing , AR/VR/Spatial and Immersive tech.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a registered Indian entity (Private Limited Company) with at least 51% Indian ownership.
Must be registered in a Tier-II or Tier-III city.
Must have a valid DPIIT certificate.
Should work on a tech-based product/software in domains like Deep-tech, AI/ML, Cybersecurity, IoT, Blockchain, Fintech, Ed-tech, or Health-tech.
Must have a market-ready product and preferably be revenue-generating.
Preference is given to startups with granted patents.
Must not be involved in any legal disputes.
Funding is a 1:1 matching grant ranging up to ₹50 Lakh based on external funds raised (government grants are not considered).
Cannot be a startup previously supported under the TIDE 2.0 (Scale-up) or Samridh schemes.
The funding instrument is equity.

Funding and Financial Eligibility

Investment Data: The startup must have been supported by executed Term Sheets, Shareholders’ Agreements, and proof of funds received.
Previous private funding from Venture Capitalists (VCs) or Angel Investors is permitted.
Startups must not have been supported under the TIDE 2.0 GTM (Scale-up Investment) or SAMRIDH schemes.
Financial Data: Must be verified against bank statements, cap tables, and audited financials.

Regional Criteria

Location : Only applicants/entity registered from Tier 2 and Tier 3 are eligible.
